Construction on this project began in February of 2010 and it is almost complete in 2013. The Surgery/Emergency Room expansion (2-story special moment resisting frame above grade and 1-story subterranean concrete shear wall structure) added 50,000 sq. ft. and 38 new surgery bays to a total of 75,000 sq. ft. and 80 surgery bays. There are an addition of 190,300 sq. ft. of new hospital facilities including 16 surgery suites, an adult and pediatric triage, a new entrance, lobby and waiting area with skylight feature. The Elevator Tower (10-story special steel concentrically braced frame & 1-story subterranean concrete shear wall structure) connects the existing hospital building to the Surgery/Emergency building. Additionally, there are two standalone canopies, a free-standing heliport and a new parking structure that accommodate approximately 544 vehicles.
