Project consists of a new three-story teaching and research laboratory facility situated in 5 acres site, part of the expansion of the West Campus of Azusa Pacific University. The intention is to create a center for science that will consolidate and increase teaching space for mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, and to provide an emphasis on fundamental research to enrich the Christian academic program for students and faculty. The Science Center will create meeting spaces where students and faculty can come together for scheduled and unscheduled academic purposes. LEED Silver
Services Provided: Civil Engineering
Project consists of a new three-story teaching and research laboratory facility situated on a 5 acres site, part of the expansion of the West Campus of Azusa Pacific University. Site development design included a pedestrian mall and large landscaped areas incorporating vegetated swales, dry creek beds and landscaped surface detention/percolation basin for implementation of large stormwater quality management system. Civil engineering work included site demolition, grading, drainage, and paving design for the public areas, onsite parking and driveways, and design for utilities. The project included unique stormwater runoff quality management program implementation and incorporated comprehensive site accessibility study and implementation. In addition, a 3-dimensional model of the site pavement surface and landscape areas was developed and used by the architectural and engineering consultant team during the design phase.
